Hi there…today is Sunday…a day of rest. I had a nice day with my family but at separate times. First I went to the grocery store with my DH. We had light lunch first together in the Tesco’s cafe then we had a nice shop. We usually have a nice time doing this together. It defintely make this chore much more pleasurable…lol. My hubby, John, actually likes shopping. He’s weird I know…defintely not a typical guy. Mostly its becasue he loves to plan things, from a weekly meal plan to having our holiday checklist done two months in advance with schedules of when things need to be done. You might think this annoying but I think its marvelous…that’s becasue I’m the complete opposite. I’m a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants type of gal. I take things as they come, roll with the punches, etc. So I leave it all to him. He leaves me notes of things I have to do that day if there is soemthing he needs from me. Anyway…..

Then this afternoon I took my daughter to the movies, just she and me. We went to see WALL-E the new Pixar robot movie becasue she’s been wanting to see it. We stuffed ourselves with popcorn, candy and soda and had a nice time. The movie wasn’t as funny as we thought it would be but it was okay…it wasn’t my fave by it was watchable…mostly becaue the animation was pretty cool and that’s the main reason I go to these types of movies. Plus we have to sit at the very front of the movie theatre…I’m in a wheelchair so that mean sitting in the disabled section where you are so close to the screen that you feel part of the movie…lol. Now we’re home and my bum in is front of the computer while both DH and DD are napping….ahhhh Sundays.

Well here it is….the last day of school. I know those of your in America ar thinking…what the???? Here in the UK the kids just have a 6 week summer. They get full weeks off throught the year for mid term and term breaks…think year round schooling. My DD came home with her lovely white uniform blouse all covered in acrylic paint…and I do mean covered. She told me they had a paint fight in class..now these are 15 yr old kids. Good thing white blouses are cheap…lol. I threw it away because it was caked on. I don’t want paint inside my washing machine.

I’ve took some time this morning to surf around to many of the online digital scrapbooking shops around. I decided I should take a look at the types of trends that are really hot right now. I’ve been designing a new kit but I want to make sure it has stuff that people will want. Looks like hand drawn emelents, flowers, ribbons and swirls are still around stronger than ever. It also seems as though designers aren’t designing as many full kits anymore either. They are more scaled down in size as well. I see lots of element packs and commercial use items mostly as new items out for sale. What I realised is…I was having FUN! I loved looking at all the graphics, colours and designs. It was NOT time wasted which is what my DH would think…sheesh.

I had a bit of a play with an old paper of mine. It was still in it’s layers so I took some of the layers and brought them together to make a paper overlay for my blog readers today. It’s in PNG format as it has some transparency. And of COURSE…it’s COMMERCIAL USE, S4H and Personal use. I hope you enjoy it:

Hi again…today has been a  much calmer day thank goodness. My DD…yes she is dear now and not ND like yesterday…is being her more usual self. I’ve been having a nice time today at the ADSD forum. You can see the links to all the designer’s blogs over on the left. Well we now have a terrific new forum and I would like to give them a plug right now, so please join us..if you haven’t already…at ADSDesigners Forum. Everyone there is a Digi Scrap Designer and they are so helpful and sweet. I can’t recommend them all enough.

Now onto the freebie. Yesterday I gave you a QP and now here’s kit I made it from. It’s an old page kit I made and I used to sell but now I’m giving it to you for free. Styles change and I’ve been designing NEW stuff so you get the old here on my blog…lol. I hope it’s not too out of style as it was made over a year ago.

Tip about my downloads….I have this zipped in 2 parts. When you unzip them just choose Extract Here and both zips will unzip into the same folder together so you don’t have to hunt and seek through your files to find all the kit pieces. I even separated my TOU into its own folder inside so those files don’t get in the way of all the goodies…lol. Today was a bit tough. My 15 yr old daughter decided to play the bad girl role and my DH and I had to have a heart to heart with her about her behaviour. I don’t like doing this kind of thing but she’s really been having a rough time lately. So today was a bit of a waste when it came to designing. I did dig out this quickpage though and put a pick of my ND (naughty daughter) in there. I do love her to bits though. It’s tough being a Mom sometimes…..ah well.

I used an old kit of mine and you’ll be getting that tomorrow but today, since I was low on time, you get the quickpage…cool huh?

Hello everyone and welcome to my new blog! Dorothy’s my name and scrappin’s my game! Well you can add designer, crafter, Mother, Wife, etc. to that…lol. I would like to welcome you to my blog here and to my digital scrapbooking designs and layouts.

Since this is my first post (and my About Me page isn’t done yet), I’ll tell you a little about me here. My name is Dorothy, I’m 43 yrs old and live in the UK, England to more precise. I’ve lived here for 5 years…gosh time flies when you’re having fun. I’m originially from New Jersey and lived for many years in East Tennessee so you can see I’m really American and not British. I started paper scrapping about 4-5 years ago because my sister was doing it. But I had so little room in my little house for all the piles of papers and junk. My hubby was always complaining…lol. One day I found a Yahoo group that had a bunch of members just starting out in digital scrapbooking. Now THIS was something I could do!! I had been using PSP (Paint Shop Pro) for many years. I can do this instead so my hubby doesn’t have to clear off the dining room table all the time. Most of those ladies from that group are now very successful store owner and/or designers. I used to be a designer myself….I got very burned out and very depressed. I retired from designing because of the depression. But of course….I couldn’t stay away…LOL. So I’M BAAAAACK! I feel better than ever and hope to let my creativity blossom again in the world of digital scrapbooking.

My daugher made this so it was her idea but I took the photo and did the extraction. There is a light bow and a dark bow to help make it easier to colourise.
